KCYHA participated in the USA Hockey 2 and 2 challenge.  The 2 and 2 Challenge is a call-to-action for hockey associations. It is a blueprint that guides youth hockey leadership through national programs and tools to realize their goal of acquiring 2 additional players and retaining 2 additional players than the previous season's total.  There are three levels of achievement.  Bronze, Silver, and Gold.  KCYHA has achieved Gold Level.

By completing the 2 and 2 Challenge, our program accomplished two things:

1. Increase participation in the 8 & under age group and ensure that our program continues to grow as these players graduate to older age levels.
2. Our association established itself not just as one of the best hockey programs in the Midwest, but as one of the best programs in the United States.

With our success in the 2 and 2 Challenge, KCYHA will receive 4 free sets of One Goal Gear and 6 sticks.
