All KCYHA Families: Thanks to all who attended the KCYHA Annual Meeting last night. We were fortunate to have three excellent candidates for the open position on the KCYHA Board of Directors. Congratulations to Jason Wood who will serve a three year term on the Board. Thank you to everyone who voted online and at the meeting.
Election results:
Jason Wood: 184 votes
Matt Stephenson: 111 votes (83 member votes plus 28 board proxy votes)
Jordan Crowell: 62 votes

for 2023 Board of Directors Election
IN ORDER TO FAIRLY ACCOMMODATE CANDIDATES NOMINATED AFTER THE INITIAL ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE, WE REQUEST THAT YOU READ BELOW AND UPDATE YOUR RSVP AND/OR PROXY DESIGNATION. IF YOU FAIL TO DO SO, YOUR LAST RSVP RESPONSE AND/OR PROXY DESIGNATION WILL BE USED.
Each year the Kansas City Youth Hockey Association holds an election for the Board of Directors (BOD) at the Annual Meeting of Members. This year there is ONE (1) Director seat up for election for a three (3) year term. The election is for a seat on the Board of Directors. It is not for a particular officer (i.e.. president, vice-president, secretary or treasurer). The officers will be elected by the Board of Directors at the subsequent Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors. The KCYHA bylaws require the current Board of Directors to submit a nominee. Two other nominations have been submitted.

We kindly ask that you RE-SUBMIT your RSVP using the on-line link below.
RSVP OPTIONS:
- RSVP YES – An RSVP of YES means you are attending the annual meeting in-person Monday night June 5th 6:00pm at Scheels in Overland Park. 6503 W. 135th Street, 2nd Floor Training Room. Ballots will be handed out and you’ll be asked to vote during the meeting. We appreciate you letting us know if you plan to attend so we can set up accordingly.
- RSVP NO – Two options:
- Assign your proxy vote to the KCYHA Board of Directors. This gives the board authorization to act on your behalf in its discretion; or
- Assign your proxy vote to the KCYHA Board directing it to vote in favor of the candidate you designate: Matt Stephenson, Jordan Crowell, or Jason Wood.
- Assign your proxy vote to the KCYHA Board of Directors. This gives the board authorization to act on your behalf in its discretion; or
RSVP deadline is Monday June 5th at 12:00 noon.
Only Members with a player registered and in good standing with the Association and USA Hockey at the time of the meeting will be entitled to cast one (1) vote per player registered on each matter that comes before the meeting and any adjournment or postponement of the Annual Meeting.

NOTICE OF THE ANNUAL MEETING
OF THE
MEMBERS OF
KANSAS CITY YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION, INC. (“Association”)
TO BE HELD ON:
MONDAY, JUNE 5, 2023 at 6:00 P.M.

To the Members of the Association:
The Annual Meeting of the Members of the Association will be at:
Location: Scheels Sporting Goods
6503 W. 135th Street, 2nd Floor
Overland Park, KS
If you plan to attend the Annual Meeting at Scheels please RSVP by clicking HERE. You must RSVP by FRIDAY, JUNE 2nd 2023 to attend the meeting.
If you are NOT able to attend please provide your proxy and RSVP ‘NO’ by clicking HERE so the Association may conduct it’s official business during the annual meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is as follows:
- To elect one Director to hold office pursuant to the Corporation’s By-Laws for a term of THREE (3) years and until their respective successor has been duly elected and qualified.
- To transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment or postponement.
The Board of Directors has nominated by resolution Matt Stephenson to serve as an Elected Director of the corporation and to serve a three (3) year term.
Any Member may submit additional nominations by e-mail to Mary Helmick at mary@kcyouthhockey.com no later than FRIDAY, JUNE 2nd, 2023. Nominations may not be submitted at the Annual Meeting. When submitting a nomination by e-mail, please include a brief biography and statement of interest for the person being nominated. Such nominations will be compiled for distribution at the meeting. Incomplete nominations will not be accepted.
Only Members with a player registered and in good standing with the Association and USA Hockey at the time of the meeting will be entitled to cast one (1) vote per player registered on each matter that comes before the meeting and any adjournment or postponement of the Annual Meeting.
It is required that two-fifths (2/5) of the Members entitled to vote in person or by proxy, attend the Annual Meeting to make the election vote official. If you cannot attend in person, please provide your proxy by clicking below now so the Association may conduct its official business.
