USA Hockey Coaches Registration
Please submit your USA Hockey membership # to us electronically by filling out the 2017-2018 Registration.
***This registration will be available about August 1, 2017. Please proceed to complete the Consent to Screen, SafeSport Module (if needed), and Age Specific Module (if needed).
All Coaches, Team Managers, Volunteers, and Locker Room Monitors must consent to be screened each year through Midwest Amateur Hockey Association our USA Hockey affiliate BEFORE coaching on-ice or off-ice activities. Important: Click that you are coaching for Kansas City Youth Hockey Association.
Each coach, team manager, volunteer & locker room monitor must have current SafeSport training and must be completed PRIOR to coaching on-ice or off-ice. New coaches need to take the full 90 minute module online which is good for two (2) seasons. Coaches who have expired modules need to complete the 30 minute refresher course. Thus, if you took the full 90 minute online training during the 2015-16 season, it was valid for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons and you will need to complete the SafeSport Refresher course for this 2017-18 season.
Must be completed before participating in any on-ice or off-ice events.
USA Hockey requires that coaches take an online course specific for the age of players you will be coaching. You only have to take each age module once. This module needs to be completed BEFORE coaching or any contact with players on-ice or off-ice.
Important Note: USA Hockey no longer requires a specific certification level based on the age level of play coaching. A coach must progress through the education system every year and have completed the online age-specific module for each age level coaching.
All coaches must have proper certification by December 31st each season. Even though December 31st is the deadline, its IMPORTANT to note that there's usually only one class held locally in the KC area in early fall.
The expiration of your certification depends on the level you have achieved. Make sure you check your certification status if unsure. New coaches start with Level 1 and advance one level each year unless you are coaching U8, you can stay at Level 1 until you advance to Squirts.
