Hockey is Back - Renew your USA Hockey Membership

Hello KC Youth Hockey Coaches and Families - - We are thrilled that Hockey is Back and we look forward to the 2020-2021 season!

USA Hockey, the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association, and KC Youth Hockey have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming season.  Now it’s your turn to help us get ready.

How can you help? Renew your annual membership to USA Hockey for the upcoming season. Please visit the USA Hockey website to register as a player, coach or volunteer at https://membership.usahockey.com/ or by clicking the above 'Hockey is Back' image.  IMPORTANT NOTE: Please click that you play in the state of Kansas, Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (not Missouri Hockey) even if you live in the state of Missouri. 

Parents and Players - - We are working on fall/winter programming and will roll out details as they become available.

Off-Ice Volunteers and Team Managers - - USA Hockey Requirements (Must be completed before participating in any team activities)

Coaches - - USA Hockey has implemented some new processes. You can take your CEP Level 1, 2, 3, 4 online through Virtual Training ($50). These training sessions have been filling fast so hop on one soon.  Or you can apply for a Temporary Card by June 30th, 2020 ($50).  Here's a list of Coaches USA Hockey requirements.

  • Register as a Coach on the USA Hockey website ($56). Click that you are coaching/playing in the state of KANSAS, Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (not Missouri Hockey) even if you live in the state of Missouri. Click HERE to register or click on the above image. 
  • Register yourself as a Coach with KC Youth Hockey. Click HERE to proceed to KCYHA registration.
  • Complete the USA Hockey SafeSport Training (required every year, must be completed PRIOR to participating in any on-ice or off-ice activities, cannot be added to a roster or participate in any activities till complete). Click HERE to go to SafeSport Training.
  • Complete Background Screen if needed. Background screen is good for two years, must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities. We will let you know if you need to be screened or not. Please wait for a communication from us before you complete the background screen, otherwise you may incur a $30 fee.
  • Complete the online Age-Specific module(s) for the age level of play you are coaching. $10 per module but only needs to be completed once per age level. Must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities. Click HERE to proceed to Age Specific Module Training.
  • Find, register and attend the required certification clinic, virtual or in-person. Cost is $50 for Level 1, 2, 3, or 4. Yes, Level 4 can also be taken virtually and has been condensed into a shorter clinic similarly to Level 1-3. Must be complete by December 31st. Click HERE to locate a clinic or take one virtually.
  • Or, apply for a Temporary Card by June 30th, 2020 ($50). A new coach can receive a Temporary Card for Level 1 for the 2020-21 season. The following year they will need to attend a Level 1 clinic. All other coaches will receive a 1 year extension at the current level that they are at. The following season (2021-22) you must attend the next level up. If receiving a Level 3, that certification is only good for 1 year. Click HERE to proceed to temporary card information.
