Gary Emmons -- Varsity Head Coach

Coach Emmons has been with the Jets since the inception of the program in 2007.  Coach Emmons played 13 years of professional hockey, mainly with the San Jose Sharks organizations. Coach Emmons played youth hockey in Canada and played for the Canada National Team. Coach Emmons played college Hockey at Northern Michigan where he earned  WCHA First Team selection twice and was a two time finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. Coach Emmons moved to Kansas City in 1991 when he was a member of the San Jose organization to play for the Kansas City Blades.  After his professional career Coach Emmons started his coaching career as an Assistant Coach for the Blades. Before being selected as the Head Coach for the Jets, Coach Emmons coached Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam Level hockey for the Kansas City Youth Association.   

Radoslav Illo - JV Head Coach

Coach Illo joined the Jets Coaching staff during the 2020-2021 season after playing professional hockey for Kansas City Mavericks hockey team. Prior to joining the Jets Staff Coach Illo coached several youth teams in the Kansas City Youth Hockey Organization and has served as a personal representative of players, responsible for enhancing their hockey careers, on all levels of development and mentorship. Coach Illo graduated from Bemidji State University where he was a member of their Division I Hockey Program. Coach Illo played for Team Slovakia and as a co-captain lead his team at the 2009 World Junior Championship. In 2009 Coach Illo was a fifth round draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks and has played professional hockey in both North America and Europe. 

Matt Buoniconti - Varsity and JV Assistant Coach 

Coach Buoniconti joined the Jets' Staff during the 2021-2022 season. Coach Buoniconti played youth hockey in the Kansas City Youth Association and is a Jets Alumni.  While playing for the Jets he earned All Star Honors and a Top 10 Scorer in the League Award his Senior year. Coach Buoniconti was also a key player for the Jets 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 Tournament Championships. When not coaching hockey Matt is an Assistant Manager at KCIC and currently is working on his Bachelor Degree at Kansas University.    

Zach Curry - Varsity and JV Assistant Coach

Coach Curry joined the Jets' Staff during the 2023-2024 seasons after finishing his College Hockey career for the Ohio University at the ACHA Division 1 level, where he earned a degree in Sports Coaching with a minor in Sports Management.  Coach Curry played Junior Hockey in numerous NAHL & NA3HL Organizations. Coach Curry played youth hocky in the Kansas City Youth Association and is a Jets Alumni. Coach Curry was a key player for the Jets 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 Tournament Championships. While playing for the Jets Zach earned league All Star Honors and was a Top 5 scorer in the league. 

Gary Scibona - General Manager

Gary has been involved in Kansas City Youth Hockey since 2003 and has been the Jets General Manager since 2009-2010 Season.
